Heading south out of K. Falls on Highway 39, Merrill is about the last stop before the California border. If you find yourself in Tule Lake you have gone too far. They have an annual potato festival and a tall water tower. These people take part in the irrigation water allocation battles just like Bonanza. Their economy depends on it, but the environmentalists and native Americans also have valid claims.
