Millican

Just past the Horse Ridge summit east bound from Bend on Hiway 20 you may still find Millican. Watch on the right about half way to Brothers. As you can see from the photo the last time I passed through the environmental laws had the upper hand. The station and store were closed, the windows boarded, and the old fuel tanks unearthed. There she sat, not a soul in sight. Millican was never much of a town although it had a post office from 1913 until 1953. It is basically a store and gas station. In recent years it has been closed more than open, and usually for sale.
