Another History Marker
(I can't read it all either, but here is part) Crane your ear when you walk down Main Street and with
a little imagination you can almost hear the buzz of the Booth-Kelly Mill saws of 1910.
Booth-Kelly (now Georgia-Pacific) was the town's main employer from 1898 until its closure in
1917--as the 1911 damming of the McKenzie made logging impossible. With Coburg's main industry
gone, many residents were forced to leave or commute to neighboring towns for work.
