Idanha
At 1700 feet above sea level Idanha is still not in the high Cascades, but it certainly is well into the domain of the Douglas fir forests. In August of 2006 the huge Cascade Crest Complex fire burned part of those forests nearby. With logging a much reduced activity forest fires do not seem as devastating to the local economies as when I was a boy. Breitenbush hot springs is a well known and popular spot not far from Idana (www.breitenbush.com).
