Fort Hill
Early travelers may have stopped by Fort Yamhill out of necessity but now the stop seems less compelling. A little gas station, store and restaurant complex services passersby and a sawmill provides local jobs. The last tourist attraction left town in 1911 when the enterprising city fathers at Dayton carried away the Fort Yamhill block house and made it an attraction in their city park.
