Were it not for its famous steakhouse--the Tumalo Feed Company (www.tumalofeedcompany.com)-- you would not look twice passing through this town. Otherewise crossing the Deschutes river is the high spot and the huge gravel works is the low spot. Leave Highway 20 to the north-east and you will actually find a small community complete with white church and homes. The juniper covered hills around Tumalo are covered with one to ten acre plots with some outstanding homes. Most of these residents commute to Bend.
