Yachats
Glennette loves this place so we spend some time there and have pictures of everything. We have welcomed several new years in at the Fireside Inn or the Overleaf Inn. With luck stormy weather prevails when we visit. Yachats has some of the best spouting horns on the Oregon coast and with a good storm pounding the display is spectacular.
Like many coastal town Yachats spreads for a long ways along Hiway 101. This pictures of most of downtown, a few eateries, a few antiques shops and a few cutsie shops.
Yachats river estuary where the river meets the sea. The whole town seems to lean uphill from the pounding of many storms. Just to the right of this picture is a nice restaurant overlooking the bay. From the shelter of the glassed in dining room we see seals, waterfowl, and storms. From the outside the building is not much, but don't be put off. The breakfasts are great and they make and sell an unusual Tomato Jelly. Glennette thinks its is wonderful but I lean toward Marion berry myself.
South along the beach from Yachats.
The view from Cape Perpetua looking north towards Yachats is spectacular. Yachats is on the long jutting arm at the top of the picture.
Looking straight down from the top of Cape Perpetua does not invite one to swim.

By the way, the name of this place is "ya-hots", not
"ya-chets".
