Malin is just one irrigation ditch from California. One wonders whether they would be better off as a forgotten town on the north California border or as a forgotten town on the south Oregon border. Flat is the word here. The buildings are old, long, and low. Irrigated crops are the mainstay of the economy. We were impressed as we last visited Malin (7/06) that the town is showing some life and energy. They will be coming up on 100 years old in 2009 and I bet they have a good party!
