Gold Hill
Gold mining breeds legends and one of them concerns Gold Hill.  Somewhere in the way way past, according to legend someone found a large gold nugget in a nearby hill, hence the name!  Sounds reasonable to me. . . I am not sure what keeps this place going except that it is on the banks of the very beautiiful Rogue river. In the past the area did see a gold rush, but now it seems to specialize in antiques. The intersate lies just across the river and the connection is good so the town continues to prosper.
