Chiloquin
Chiloquin was a lively spot in the 1950's when we used to go to Upper Klamath lake to duck hunt, but a lot has changed since then.  Today the downtown is basically dead  save some obviously government financed efforts at new buildings.  The townsite occupies the confluence of the Williamson and Sprague rivers and has more beautiful river front land than all of Bend.  The yuppies have not moved in yet so perhaps this is still reservation land.
In 1954-1961 the government bought out each Indians rights and dissolved the tribe.  That was a mess and the money was quickly spent.  The tribe was successfully re-established in 1986 and since then the tribe has prospered.  The Klamaths, the Modocs, and the Yashooskins make up the Klamath Tribes.  Appropriately when they established their casino they used the name Ka-Mo-Yah Casino.
